All pictures Bayside Resort Fiji Islands - copyright South Pacific Pictures Detailed Info There are just two traditional thatch bures, each with a double bed, mosquito net and high ceiling. A communal bathroom with cold water shower, separate flush toilet and outdoor sink sits between the two bures giving both easy access. Natural spring water offers a constant supply of fresh drinkable water. There is no shop on the island and supplies are limited so bring nibbles and supplies of sunscreen and medical supplies. The restaurant serves a set meal plan in the high roof thatch bure with sand floor, ensuring an intimate experience to fit in with the resorts image. Vegetarian meals can be provided with prior notice only. The beach at Bayside Resort is of fine white sand and is backed by coconut palms giving shade from the daytime sun. The beach is about 200 metres long and is flanked by black volcanic rocks on either side. It is possible to walk around the southern point to the stunning twin bay and sand spit connecting Waya and Wayalailai (20 minutes walk) and also around the northern point where the beach extends for almost a mile alongside Yalobi Village (20 minutes walk). The lagoon infront of Bayside is quite shallow at low tide, but still possible for swimming, and the coral reef begins about 50 metres from shore making snorkelling very accessible. Guides can be hired to explore the mountain tracks that meander around Waya Island, crossing the grassy hills of the interior which connect the four villages on the island and also scaling the mountain peaks (Batinareba at 510 metres) or following the picturesque coastlines. These treks can take anything from a one hour stroll to full day hikes. The village hosts a twice weekly meke and traditional feast which guests can attend. Boat trips around the island and to the outer reef for snorkelling can be arranged. Getting to bayside is easy - the 200-seater fast catamaran, Yasawa Flyer, departs Denarau Marina in Nadi every day at 8.30am reaching Bayside Resort at 11am and departing Bayside in the afternoon at 3.30pm returning to Nadi at 5.30pm. Beautiful Pacific is a family operated travel specialist based at Nadi Airport. If you wish to visit us, our head office is located at Office 29 on the 1st floor of the Nadi Airport Arrivals Concourse. Beautiful Pacific offers a reliable yet competitive booking service. We know the islands intimately and have selected only the best resorts so you can be sure of a great holiday experience. We have been able to negotiate great deals direct with the resorts and can pass on these savings to you, without a middle man taking some of the profits. You will find the majority of our prices to be at least 5% cheaper than buying direct from the resort and in many cases your savings will be substantially greater. But remember, you pay for what you get, and unlike many other travel agents we don't use every conceivable trick to make our prices seem cheap, and we don't cut corners to save money - our efficient booking service is what makes our business successful. All our prices are quoted in local Fijian Dollars (F$), are quoted for 2 people (except dorm beds) and include all governemt taxes (which in Fiji are quite substantial). |
