Nadi Airport is the main tourist hub in Fiji and where all international flights arrive and depart and many people spend a night here before heading off to other parts of the Fiji islands or in transit for international flights. Although Nadi has little to offer the tourist in terms of beach, adventure or culture, it does have an excellent tourist infrastructure with plenty of hotels, upmarket resort developments, quality restaurants and friendly nightlife. With so much competition, It also makes an affordable base for exploring the surrounding countryside and offshore islands on day tours. Most of Nadi is set inland but the beach resorts around Nadi Bay make a decent tropical environment to spend the night. However, don' t expect a beautiful white sandy beach or snorkelling lagoons - only pleasant views of the offshore islands and along the coastline.
Nadi Airport
For convenience, Nadi Airport hotels offer excellent value for money. There are several hotels opposite the airport entrance which make a convenient base for stopovers or for day rooms.

Nadi Town
Nadi Town itself has lots of nice boutique shops selling flowery shirts and tacky handicrafts, several good restaurants and a bustling local produce market. It's a functional town although here the tourism touts are on the streets trying to befriend you and sell their tours. There is a fine Indian temple at the end of town that is worth browsing around for a little peace and quiet. Getting around by taxi is easy and cheap.
